My fiance and I ordered the shrimp and calamari after dip in the nearby beach. Food was relatively cheap but really fresh. Definitely a hidden gem with great service. Owner was really cool.

If you are looking for a quick bite, this is a great spot to stop at before getting on the train. You have to head down some stairs to find the restaurant, but the food is tasty and very fairly priced. I also appreciate that a soda is 1,50 here vs the usual 4 euros anywhere else. Don't go here expecting a 5 star meal but if you want quick good fried food then this place won't let you down plus the folks working are very nice and accommodating

Mussels were really tender and soft, vongole had the right texture and flavour as compared to other vongoles I had in Italy, and to me it had a lovely homely ambience. A friend brought me here and I enjoyed my time in this place.

This place is really nice fully reflects the small fishing village and the old traditions of the area. O'cuopp Masaniello we had was extremely fresh taste and good, include all small fish size and shrimps or in local dialect A Paranza. The octopus looked good too but we only had some sneak maybe next time.

This is both a grab-and-go as well as a sit-down place - they set up a makeshift dining area in the evening. They do a lot of deep-fried dishes - calamari, local seaweed battered bread, pasta/rice balls, mixed seafood pasta and nice grilled/baked fish which is very fresh. We ate in and the also tried the pokes of calamari/ chips & chicken nuggets. Both great! Chef Toni is very proud of his fish dishes.

Nestled in the heart of Portici, just a few steps down via the quaint stairs at Via Discesa Porto, 11, O' Cuopp Portici offers an authentic taste of the local fishing village’s rich maritime tradition. This hidden gem specializes in fresh, fried seafood cups known as cuoppi—a delightful street food that perfectly captures the essence of the Neapolitan coast. With prices ranging from 6 to 8€, each cup brims with tender calamari, succulent shrimp, and a variety of small fish, showcasing the bounty of the sea with every bite.

What truly stands out here is the freshness and simplicity. Unlike many tourist spots, O' Cuopp Portici excels in delivering seafood that tastes caught just moments before hitting the pan. The mussels are soft and luscious; the vongole carry that delicate briny flavor that feels both familiar and comforting. The octopus, though sampled only briefly, promises a vibrant texture and depth that beckons a return visit.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere hums with the charm of an authentic fishing village. The owner and staff infuse great service with warmth and local pride, making every visit feel personal and inviting. This isn’t a place for fine dining expectations, but for those seeking quick, satisfying, and well-priced fried seafood, it hits the mark beautifully. And the small touches, like affordable soda prices, add to its approachable and genuine character.

In short, O' Cuopp Portici is a delicious ode to tradition—a spot where freshness, flavor, and local culture blend seamlessly. Whether you’re hungry after a day at the nearby beach or catching a train, this unassuming seafood haven is well worth your time and appetite.
